The enemies you will encounter are all newly designed apart from the already mentioned Skaarj. There are altogether twenty four races, and some of them seem very interesting; like the Mercs, well-armed mercenaries capable of organizing themselves in groups during battles, and the Striders, who not only grow their own armor, but their own weapons and spaceships. The worst thing about them is that they have the ability to disassemble, pass through tiny cracks or extremely narrow passages, and then reassemble on the other end (T-1000 anyone? – Ed). There are also the Shian warriors, floating crablike creatures, Izarian hunters who have six exotic weapons instead of proper limbs, and many, many more…

In the new expanded multiplayer game, player teams will fight for control of planet surfaces and alien artifacts using nanotechnology replicators to build ever more sophisticated weapons such as automated gun turrets, force fields, sensors, recon and repair robots, and more. Players will choose one of three player classes at the beginning of play – class selection establishes a balance of speed, special abilities, armor, and firepower. All races, abilities, weapons, equipment, and tactics will have precedents in the single player game – but the expanded multiplayer experience brings everything together at the same time.
