you will encounter anomalous zones, gravitational pits, concentrates and so on, which often bear instant death to the entrapped. Stalker’s objective in the Zone is to seek artifacts possessing anomalous characteristics and sell them to the interested parties, like traders, various corporations and so on for a money reward. As the Zone is very dangerous place, you will require various kinds of equipment, anomaly detectors, protective suits etc to stand a chance to survive and reach farther, previously inaccessible areas of the Zone. Player will also perform various game quests, like saving missing scientists, for instance. And finally, the ultimate player’s goal will be to reveal the mystery of the Zone – why was it created and what keeps up its existence[…]

You can carry no more than 40 kg in your backpack, but still it’s quite a huge variety of options, while a rifle may weight 2-7 kg.
