In the last week, Vivendi Universal Games has made two significant announcements of its own–the signing of a 10-year deal with Marvel to develop online multiplayer games featuring the 4,700 or so characters from the comic-book universe and the Tokyo Game Show announcement of Starcraft: Ghost–which suggests that Vivendi is continuing to strengthen its games division rather than looking to sell it. The Vivendi games division consists of three publishers: Sierra, Blizzard, and Universal Interactive.

After the recent success of Warcraft III, it’s hardly surprising that Vivendi is looking to stay in the games business, and Cron affirmed that Vivendi Universal Games is « an integral part of the future » for the French company.
