Demain, le mod semi-réaliste True Combat pour Quake 3 sortira en version Beta 0.45. En attendant, Q3Center a interviewé un des programmeurs afin de savoir entre autre ce qui démarquait True Combat des autres mods réalistes:
From what the Q3 Community has seen in mods so far, what do you think will set yours so much further apart from the others?
Tier: For me, the most noticable difference is the realism of the graphics and the sounds. For example, our maps use self-made textures and look so damn realistic, that I sometimes have to remind myself, that I am not watching a movie. Add the great weapon sounds to it and you can get really immersed in the scene.
Secondly, we don’t have fixed classes. You choose the equipment you want to use and enter the battle.
Also, our weapon system is capable of modeling bullet penetration and impact marks, all depending on the used ammo, the material the bullets hit and the angle under which the surface is hit. We have breakable glass and wood. I could go on quite a long time..
Personally, I really enjoy the whole experience when playing True Combat. What type of weapons will we see in True Combat?
Tier: H&K MK23 (silenced), Desert Eagle .50, Mac 10 (Akimbo), H&K Mp5K (silenced), H&K G36, Colt M4, AK-47, Remington SR-8, H&K PSG1 to name a few. All weapons have real world counter parts.
A part le fait que leurs screenshots soient des BMP (1Mo pour un 800×600), c’est une bonne interview. Le site officiel de True Combat: http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~q3t/
