Annoncé comme Serious Sam: Word to the Mothership puis prestement renommé Serious Sam: Next Encounter, le Serious Sam de la PlayStation 2 et du GameCube sortirait finalement sur cette dernière console sous son premier nom, Word to the Mothership, dixit Nintendo.
