Comme chaque semaine actionvault est allé fouiner dans les forums de planetside pour y trouver des informations venant de la dev team :
[–SUITE–] ETA for the San Diego developer profiles: Hopefully the San Diego profiles will be up by next week Wednesday.servers: Servers will be separate from each other, but don’t think of it as a single computer or a machine (it can quite literally be several computers that make up a « server »). A server controls one world, which many of you know is made up of 13 battlefield continents, plus 3 Empire specific continents. There’s obviously a technical ceiling in the number of players that can be held on a single world, hence the reason for multiple worlds. Players on World A cannot interact with players on World B and so on, but in theory a world can hold 3,500 players. Accounting just for the battlefield continents, this averages somewhere between 250 and 300 people per continent. Moving between worlds may be possible, but that’s really beyond me at this point.
motorcycles and quads: Motorcycles were removed, and in their place came the quads (which some of our screenshots have shown). We think they fit more in the style of the other vehicles.
PlanetSide vs. Infantry: Both games are radically different from each other, and yet I encourage everyone to check out Infantry (it’s our game, after all!).
upcoming visuals: Yep, it’s about time for some new visuals … it’s a little bumpy as the team is trying to meet a milestone, but hopefully TRay can give me some goodies as fruits of their labor 🙂 We’re looking at some new renders for everyone’s viewing pleasure …

various topics: Yes, there will be variety in the terrain, although radical shifts in terrain type will be seen more on a per continent basis. In other words, expect to see continents that are all desert, or all temperate, or all arctic, etc.
There will be a limit on how many players can occupy a continent, but I don’t have any information as to how this limit is being regulated.
Global server placement is still being determined, but I think it’s a step in the right direction when EQ starts to place servers in Europe.
updates during the game’s development cycle: I know you guys want more, and trust me, I’d love to give you more. I’m working with TRay to give you more renders, and we’ve got a monthly newsletter we’re hoping to release starting in October. There’s more, too, but I’m asking for your patience as we try to situate a few things.
My number one priority is making sure the community continues to grow, and doesn’t stagnate or — at its worst — taper off. During those times when there’s nothing new to -show-, I hope that at least our presence here on the boards shows we’re still 100% committed to everyone here. We still have our scheduled updates to the website — FAQ revisions/updates, monthly producer’s letter, screenshots, etc., and in-between all these regular updates, I’m working to include extras and goodies. I just hope you’re able to weather the dry periods and stick around — we’re still here on the boards, and that won’t ever go away.
armor as an inventory item: Armor isn’t being treated as an item you can carry around, so you can’t loot it or carry a particular suit in the trunk of your vehicle. The default armor type for any player will be the light armor suit, and players will always be wearing this.
the absence of Kevin « Stryker » McCann and Terrence « Rainbird » Yee from the boards: You’ll be seeing more of Rainbird and Stryker, as they’re nearing completion of the entire PlanetSide design, which hopefully will free them up a little more. In fact, you should start seeing more of them starting this week.
