Buena Vista Interactive to Release TRON 2.0: Killer App Created Exclusively for Xbox

Climax to Develop New Xbox Live Multiplayer Combat

BURBANK, Calif., March 3 /PRNewswire/ — Buena Vista Interactive, a publishing label of Buena Vista Games, Inc., today announced plans to release TRON 2.0: Killer App for the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft. Currently in development by Climax’s Los Angeles studio, TRON 2.0: Killer App will feature new, exclusive Xbox(TM) Live multiplayer combat, specially designed to deliver gamers a state-of-the-art online multiplayer gaming experience.

« TRON 2.0: Killer App builds on the remarkable visual style and intense gameplay of the award-winning TRON 2.0, » said Bob Picunko, director of marketing for Buena Vista Interactive. « In looking for a developer for the new title, we searched for a team that specializes in creating outstanding Xbox games with incredibly strong Xbox Live, racing and first-person shooter gameplay. We saw Climax as the perfect choice and look forward to providing gamers with an even edgier, action-packed TRON universe. »

Climax is well known for introducing titles that push game console hardware to the limit, particularly for the Xbox game environment. Some of the company’s most notable Xbox video game system titles include the multi- award winning Moto GP, along with the eagerly awaited Sudeki.

« Climax is excited to be working with Buena Vista Interactive to bring TRON 2.0: Killer App to console, » said Karl Jeffery, Climax chief executive officer. « With this title, game fans can expect an experience that’s rich with immersive, addictive Xbox Live action — just what Climax is known for delivering. »

TRON 2.0: Killer App digitizes players inside the world of a war-ravaged computer system on the verge of collapse from a seemingly unstoppable army of corrupt programs lead by the evil « user » Thorne. As Thorne’s relentless army grows, it infects helpless programs, converting them into savage digital mercenaries aimed at spreading viral agents throughout the system. The security forces in the system struggle to quarantine the corruption, but they are hopelessly outnumbered by the mounting army of infected programs. Only a human « user » inside the computer world can even the odds. Armed with an arsenal of powerful digital weapons, players face off in epic, action-packed warfare along side security forces and against legions of horribly mutated programs as you fight to stop the corruption from spreading and bringing down computer systems worldwide.

TRON 2.0: Killer App for Xbox is scheduled for release in Fall 2004. For more information please visit www.tronkillerapp.com.
