New World Order est passé Gold il y a une dizaine de jours et l’un des développeurs vient de poster un message sur les forums officiels pour nous dire ce que nous trouverons dans les modes de jeu multiplayer :

[…] for multiplayer we have especially speeded up player rendering and animation, which in the Betas were in debug mode and slowed down the game seriously when more than 8 players were in the game.

There are five game-modes in NWO : Team Deathmatch, Plant The Bomb, Hostage Rescue, Team Escape, Fallout. Fallout is a new game-mode where a big nuke or just one really, really big bomb is placed in the level and can be activated by the terrorists and stopped by the GAT. The timer does not reset when stopping the bomb though so everytime it is started you have less time to get to the bomb and disarm it. Definitely a really fun and frantic game-mode!

The interesting thing is that you can play all the five different game-modes on all the maps, they’re not assigned to any specific map as in other tactical shooters. There will be plenty of variation in the game-modes on the servers out there!

We also have a server-side switch for respawn mode, where NWO will let players respawn after 15 seconds. Although we do not expect the majority of servers out there to run in this mode, it will definitely add to the gameplay value to have the option.

All the maps can be played cooperatively, over a LAN or over the net. Coop is our favorite so far – let’s see if NWO will be the first game to hit it off with coop over the net! […]

Voila qui s’annonce comme un pur clône de CS avec une partie solo en prime. Ca me rappelle un FPS dans le même genre développé sur LithTech et sorti il y a moins d’un an… impossible de me souvenir du nom. Espérons que NWO marquera un peu plus les esprits.
