Multiplayer elements are still being worked on, but it looks likely that there will be both Deathmatch and team-based modes. Up to 32 players will be able to take part in team-based multiplayer levels that will be objective orientated, with teams having to complete a number of tasks, for example diffusing a bomb, rescuing the hostages and grabbing some secret documents. Interestingly, the multiplayer maps will be specifically built around the objectives, and level size is likely to vary depending on the tasks involved. Similar to Counter-Strike, IGI 2 will utilise a credit feature that will allow team members to purchase guns and equipment. If you die during a round, you can also buy yourself back into the game using the credits. Cost depends on your patience or on your team’s ability to cope without you – if you buy back in straight away it will cost you more than if you hang on for a few minutes. Apparently there will even be voice over Net features! After the multiplayer oops of Project IGI, it looks as though Innerloop is pulling out all the stops.
