As a byproduct of toady’s working on the new hit detection system we plan to use I implemented base64 encoding and encryption with the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for TC. What is it for, you ask..? Well, at the moment we still use very easy to trick ways to get you the things you want to carry with you. In the future, you will need to work for the NSA to see what is going on..:-)) Oh, even the NSA should have a really hard time to hack the data without our magical key. Estimated time for a crack: at least 20 years from now.
The base64 encoding you might know from MIME will be used to send some strings over the net and to make the encrypted data savable. I am also thinking about user authentication, but this has to be delayed until the hit detection system is ready to be used.
