DX2 also features multiple methods of gameplay – based on which choices a gamer makes in the game, the gameplay can lean more towards full-on action or complete stealth, and a few in between. In fact, Ion Storm decided to work with their proprietary engine in favor of the latest Unreal engine because the team felt that the Unreal engine would be unable to support the vastly different styles of gameplay they are planning to include in DX2; a choice that seems wise, considering some of the frustrations in trying to keep perfect stealth in the original title.
