L’Advertising Standards Authority, organisation en charge de réguler la publicité aux Royaume Uni, a ouvert une enquête sur No Man’s Sky. En cause, les screenshots et les trailers mensongers, utilisés entre autre pour assurer la promo du jeu sur Steam :
